Water is not only beneficial for your body, but also for your hair. Dehydration occurs when your body is not getting enough fluid intake. Due to dehydration one of the major problem that occurs is dry hair which results in hair loss. Water carries essential vitamins to the hair roots and hydrates the entire hair strand. Without proper hydration you can observe dryness in your hair. It is not a good idea to hydrate your hair using chemical based hair products, instead use natural ingredients available at your home.

 

Home remedies for hydrating your hair at home:

1) Massaging your hair with hot oil:


If you are having dry hair, then massaging your hair with hot oil works wonders In hydrating your hair. The blood circulation in your scalp will improve dramatically when you massage your hair scalp with hot oil. Many people think that just oil is good enough for massaging your hair, but when you heat the oil you massage your hair with, ensures that the oil penetrates into the scalp thereby reaching the roots of your hair. If you can make it a habit to massage your hair with hot oil twice a week, then the roughness and damage to your hair can be prevented effectively and provides nourishment to your hair and scalp. If you are having extra dry hair then you can do the hot oil massage thrice a week.

The Vitamin A, B, C and E found in Bananas helps us to lead a healthy life. Banana is just the right remedy for you when you are facing problems of hair breakage, dandruff, split ends, and dry hair. What all you got to do is, just smash 1 ripe banana and add 2-3 table spoons of coconut milk, apply this mixture to your hair and let it stay for around 20 minutes. Wash with lukewarm water.


3) Yogurt:



Besides including Yogurt in your daily diet, think of applying it to your hair as it gives a good deep conditioning effect. The protein treatments you get in the hair saloons contains Yogurt in them and all these highly expensive protein treatments make your hair soft mainly because of the yogurt in the treatment. Then why don’t you do it sitting and relaxing in your home, instead of wasting lots of money. Use sour yogurt as it contains lactic acids and fats. The lactic acid helps to cleanse your hair and scalp, while the fats in the lactic acid will moisturise your hair. This how you need to do it, take some yogurt and apply to your hair, gently massage your hair and leave it for 30 minutes, rinse it off with a shampoo. This gives instant softness to your dry and dull hair.

4) Eggs:



You heard it right, Eggs are rich source of high class proteins, and what your hair requires is proteins. The egg yolk is highly moisturising in nature due its richness in fat and proteins, and on the other hand the egg white contains loads of beneficial enzymes that helps to cleanse your hair and thereby giving you a bouncy shiny hair. You just need to beat 2 eggs, add 2 table spoons of lemon juice and apply this mixture to your hair, massage your hair scalp and leave it for around 30 minutes. Rinse off with a gentle shampoo.

5) Avocado:



Avocado, the super food, is super rich in beneficial nutrients and contains Vitamins (A, D, E, K), proteins, copper, magnesium, iron, amino acids and potassium as well. Won’t these things are enough to keep your hair healthy? What else we need, when we have everything in the super food. To your surprise, Avocado contains Vitamin H (Biotin) that makes you hair stronger. Vitamin H is a B complex vitamin that                  are a requisite for healthy hair. Make a hair mask with Avocado to hydrate your hair in the best possible way and this how you need to do it, mash a peeled ripe avocado(medium sized) into fine paste, add olive/coconut/castor oil as per your wish. Now apply this mixture to your hair and gently massage your hair scalp. Let the mixture stay for 30 minutes and rinse off with lukewarm water.
