HAIR CARE TIPS AT DIFFERENT SEASONS

Maintaining a healthy and lustrous hair is what every women dream about. For this you need to take care of your hair in the best possible ways. According to change of seasons, we should also change the ways on how you take care of your hair. The way you take care of your hair in winter should be different from the way you take care in summer. Here are some easy tips on how to take care of your hair in different seasons like winter, summer and monsoon.

Hair care tips for winter season:

Days are much colder during the winter months and the cold air can strip moisture from your hair and can make your hair rough. Follow these simple tips to take care of your hair in the winter and maintain it healthily:

1) You might feel like taking a boiling hot water shower during the winter, but avoid it and stick to lukewarm water or warm water because exposure to boiling hot water can strip the moisture from your hair and skin and ultimately damages your hair making it rough.

2) When you head outside make sure that you cover your hair with a scarf or a hat to avoid prolonged exposure to cold air. Ensure that the scarf or the hat that covers your hair is not tight.

3) Decrease the frequency of your shampooing(say like, limit it to twice a week) and make sure that you condition your hair every time you take a head shower and do not rinse off the conditioner completely, leave about 20-25 % of it on your hair.

4) Treat your hair once in a week with the deep conditioning treatment, this helps to replenish the moisture in your hair. Purchase a good deep conditioning hair mask and this ensures that your hair stays soft and smooth during the winter.

5) Your hair loses lots of shine and bounce during the winter. Apply honey over your hair and the scalp. Cover your hair with a shower cap and leave it for 20 minutes. Rinse off with lukewarm water. This restores the shine and bounce of in hair.

6) Apply warm olive oil to your hair and scalp and massage your hair gently. This gives your hair shine and also removes dandruff and frizz.

7) It is very difficult to dry your hair after wash during the winter and you might think to tie your hair leaving it a bit wet. But think about it again as it can create a lot of problems to your hair and scalp. So make sure your dry your hair before you tie it. You can let your hair dry naturally or can save time using the air drier.

Hair care tips for summer season:

Follow these simple tips to keep your hair healthy all through the summer:

1) Cover your hair with a scarf or hat when you go out in the sun. This protects your hair against the harmful UV radiations and also helps to retain the moisture in your hair.

2) Avoid tight hairstyles, they can be damaging as they tend to tear your hair especially if your hair gets dry from the summer heat. To minimise the exposure to sun, a messy bridal would be ideal.

3) Wash your hair right after exposure to sun. This ensures that your hair doesn’t get prone to any further UV damage and washes away any impurities on your hair.

4) Cutting back on shampoo will allow your scalp to rebalance the oil production itself and that provides extra moisture which is very important during the summer time.

5) 30 seconds of massaging your hair thrice a day works wonders in exfoliating old cells and promotes hair growth thereby allows you to maintain a healthy hair.

Hair care tips for monsoon season:

1) Try to protect your hair from the rains, as the pollutants in rain can damage your hair and the scalp. I know that it is something not possible when you get caught in the rains once in a while, but keeping a hat or umbrella alongside will be handy. But if your hair gets wet in the rain, then wash your hair with mild shampoo after you go home and let it dry.

2) Apply warm coconut oil to your hair during the nights before you get to bed and massage gently for 5-10 minutes. You can also mix curry leaves in the warm oil to get thick and dark hair.

3) During the monsoon season you hair develops itchy scalp due to dandruff or some other reason. The best remedy for itchy scalp is to apply neem oil.

4) Always apply hair conditioner every time after you take a head shower in the monsoons.

5) It is recommended that you avoid hair dryers and instead use a dry towel to remove the moist in your hair.

Taking the right hair care choices enhances your beauty in and out. Follow these hair care tips for different seasons and these will allow you to look confident through these different seasons with shiny and healthy hair.
